01: How it started
WHY I LOVE RACING
Die-cast days
First seat • 2021
Some of my earliest memories are cars, racing, and Hot Wheels everywhere.
I was watching Lightning McQueen on repeat when I was tiny, and that never really went away. What started as a kid being obsessed with cars slowly turned into something I wanted to do for real.
In 2021, I finally got on track at TeamSport Leeds and never really looked back. I spent four years racing indoors before moving into outdoor karting with Club100.
That was when I knew this was where I wanted to be.
02: The emotional engine
HOW I DRIVE
" I race with emotion. Every thought, every feeling, and every bit of pressure goes into the kart. On the track, I can be myself and nothing changes that. "
The Philosophy
Leave it all on the tarmac
Every session is a chance to push past the barriers of doubt and nerves.
Fear is just fuel
I take the fear of failure and turn it into the excitement of fighting up the grid.
Pure focus
In the seat, everything else disappears; there is only the next apex and the sound of the engine.
03: The M1 pit crew
THE PEOPLE BEHIND ME
We don't turn up with a huge setup. Most of the time, it's just us, the family car, and whatever we need to get through the weekend.
My family & friends put a lot into helping me race, and so do the people who back me. I never want that to feel hidden in the background.
The Team
- →Mum and Dad: They handle the long drives, the organisation, and all the things people do not see.
- →My sister: Part of the family effort that keeps me going when race weekends come around.
- →The work behind the scenes: Homework, simulator time, line analysis, and learning as much as I can between rounds.
04: Why Club100 suits me
WHY CLUB100 MEANS SO MUCH TO ME
What I like about Club100 is that it puts the focus on the driving.
I race in Club100 because everyone gets the same basic chance. The karts are prepared for the series, allocated fairly, and it comes down to what you do out there.
-
Identical Engines:
Every Rotax 125cc 2-stroke is sealed, so excuses do not get you very far.
-
Weighted Categories:
Each category has a minimum weight requirement — it's my responsibility to make that weight at the scales before every race.
-
No Excuses:
If I get it right, I know I've earned it. If I get it wrong, I know what I need to work on.
That is what I like about it. You have to learn, be brave, and earn your way forward.
05: The test
BONE & BELIEF
In April 2025, the dream hit a wall, literally.
During the first round of the Club100 Northern Round at Glan y Gors (GYG), I spun off and broke my arm. I missed two full rounds of the season.
The Recovery
- →I spent three months watching from the sidelines.
- →I returned with a point to prove. By October at Warden Law, I didn't just drive: I set the fastest lap in the B Final during the Test Day.
- →I ended the season with three trophies from the NWKC.
That break didn't stop me. It gave me the perspective I needed to realize just how much this sport means to me.
06: How I work
THE VIRTUAL WORKSHOP
Since we don't have a garage full of spare parts, we win with homework.
My Preparation
- →Track Study: Before each race I watch onboard footage and YouTube track guides for circuits like Whilton Mill or PFI — so I know the lines before we've left the driveway.
- →Pre-Race Briefings: We run Zoom calls ahead of race weekends to go through track layouts, racing lines, and strategy — so I arrive with a plan, not just a helmet.
- →The Data: I use JS Racing Tuition (James Small) classes to analyze my telemetry and find the tenths of a second that others miss.
- →Karting Fitness: I do cardio and conditioning to build core, neck and shoulder strength, helping me handle G-forces, steer accurately, and keep race-day stamina high.
- →Seat Time: I attend indoor and outdoor tracks to gain time in the seat, helping me develop and master techniques, learning wet and dry race lines.
- →The Mechanics: I'm currently on the waiting list for a Mechanics Course at Midland Karting. I want to understand the engine as well as I understand the track.
07: The community hub
LOCAL ROOTS. NATIONAL AMBITION.
Every mile we travel starts in Pontefract.
This journey isn't just about me. It's also about the local businesses, raffle buyers, friends, and family members who help keep it going.
Saying thank you matters to me. If people back me, I want them to feel like they are part of something real, not just being asked for money and forgotten.
